Lanka Metro Transit (Pvt) Ltd ("we", "us", or "our") operates the LMT-GO mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the App. Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the App immediately.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

2.1 Location Data

The App requests access to your device's precise location (GPS) to provide core functionality, including displaying your position on the map, providing nearby bus stop information, and calculating travel routes on the Sri Lanka public transit network. Location access is used only while the App is in use (foreground). We do not collect location data when the App is running in the background.

2.2 Device Information

We may automatically collect certain device information including your mobile device ID, operating system version, device model, mobile network information, and app version number. This information is used solely for diagnostic and performance monitoring purposes.

2.3 Usage Data

We collect anonymised information about how you interact with the App, such as features used, screens visited, and session duration. This data helps us improve the App's performance and user experience.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the App's core features (real-time bus location, route planning, stop finder)
• Improve, personalise, and expand our App
• Understand and analyse how you use our App
• Develop new products, services, features, and functionality
• Detect and prevent technical issues and crashes
• Comply with applicable laws and regulations

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain collected information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. Anonymised usage analytics may be retained for up to 24 months to support long-term service improvement. Location data is not stored on our servers — it is processed on your device in real-time and transmitted only to the Google Maps Platform for route rendering.

You may request deletion of any personal data associated with your use of the App by contacting us at app@lankametro.lk. We will action verified deletion requests within 30 days.

6. Security of Your Information

We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the data we collect, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

7. Children's Privacy

The LMT-GO App is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately.
